"My Story", My growth Path : Steps to Define and Promote My Identity

Everyone has a personal brand, and I am no exception. It’s what people think of when they hear my name, see my LinkedIn profile, or read my blog posts. Personal branding is about creating an identity for a person or business. Like a brand, a personal brand allows me to be identified with values and expertise. The right personal brand can help me stand out in this era of ever-evolving trends and technology.

I use my LinkedIn profile to maintain and expand my professional network and learn the skills needed to be successful in my career.

Now I want to share my personal brand story with you. I had two jobs between high school and college. The first job was selling shoes at SACHS. It was in a shopping mall. I learned about shoe types: different types of shoes (sneakers, casual shoes, formal shoes, etc.) and their uses. Materials and construction: Learn about materials (leather, synthetic materials, canvas, etc.) and how shoes are made. Brands and trends: Stay up to date with popular brands and the latest trends in footwear. My colleagues were very friendly and polite to me. They actively helped me communicate with me when I encountered problems.

The second job was selling men's wallet in shopping mall. Here I learned product knowledge, materials and craftsmanship, and learned the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, and production processes of handbags made of different materials (such as genuine leather and artificial leather). Brand awareness: Understanding the positioning, style, history, and market positioning of different brands helped me better introduce products to customers. At the same time, I also learned sales skills, promotion and persuasion skills, and learned how to effectively demonstrate the advantages of products and persuade customers to buy. I also learned how to cooperate with colleagues, such as division of labor, sharing sales skills and experience, and jointly achieving sales goals. Share and accept feedback in the team, and continuously improve sales skills and strategies. Through these studies and practices, I have improved my sales ability and acquired a wider range of professional skills, which is very helpful for my future development.

These work experiences have allowed me to discover that I have different skills. I have mastered communication skills, which is the ability to effectively convey information through verbal language. This includes clear speech, intonation, and the ability to engage the audience. Active listening involves paying full attention, understanding, responding, and remembering what the other person says. This is essential for effective communication. The second is leadership, which is the ability to set a clear direction and inspire others to follow. This involves strategic thinking and long-term planning. The last is problem-solving, which is the ability to break down complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts and analyze each component to fully understand the problem.

Personal branding for college students is about creating a unique, authentic image and reputation that reflects who they are and what they stand for. It's essential for standing out in a competitive job market and establishing a professional presence before entering the workforce.
